Spicy Cinnamon Apple Chips

Spicy Cinnamon Apple Chips

Mouthgasmic RECIPES from the Garden

This fun and flavorful method is a wonderful way to preserve an abundance of apples! Try these apple chips as a snack by themselves, with a sweet and creamy dip, or add them to baked goods.

Ingredients:

Method:

  1. Thinly slice the apples. Use a mandolin if you have one! No need to core or seed the apples, as the seeds will fall out after dehydrating.
  2. Toss apple slices with agave, cinnamon, salt, and cayenne.
  3. Dehydrate your flavored apple slices! There are a few options for dehydrating, depending on the equipment you have on hand:
    1. An air fryer is ideal for making apple chips! Arrange the apple slices in a single layer of the air fryer basket with little to no overlap. Bake at 350° for about 12 minutes, flipping every 4 minutes.
    2. To use an oven, preheat to 200 degrees F. Place a metal rack inside a rimmed baking sheet, and arrange the apple slices on it in a single layer. Bake for 2 to 3 hours, flipping halfway through. Apples will continue to crisp while cooling, so bake until apples are dried out but still pliable.
