Spiced Date Butternut Squash



Ingredients:

  • Steamed or roasted squash - butternut is classic, but acorn or spaghetti squash would also be delicious in this dish!
  • Butter
  • Himalayan pink salt
  • Ground black pepper
  • Pinch of cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Diced red onion
  • Diced jalapeños (optional)
  • Nuts and/or seeds, such as sunflower seeds, almonds, pecans, walnuts
  • Dollop of Spiced Date Spread
  • Herbs, fresh or dried - parsley, lemon balm, cilantro


Method:

1. Mash squash of choice with butter, salt, pepper, and cayenne if desired.

2. Spoon into bowls, and top with red onion, jalapeños, nuts/seeds, and a dollop of Spiced Date Spread.

3. Sprinkle with herbs, and serve hot!
