Mouthgasmic RECIPES from the Garden

Food is one of the most fundamental importances in life, but it’s also an artistic process! Just as with beauty, delicious food is also in the eye of the beholder. Thus the “perfect” recipe is subjective and different to every body, whether that be because of taste preferences, dietary commitments, or allergies.

"Recipes" have to be tweaked and tailored to the individual to make truly amazing food! For this reason, we provide ingredients and methods, but not exact quantities and ratios. We like LOTS of flavor so we use lots of ingredients, but you can add more or less, include or exclude whatever you want according to your tastes. It's fun to cook from a creative perspective rather than to copy someone else’s version of great food!

We're not here to tell you what your flavor palette is. We aim - through beautiful photos and unique food formulas - to inspire you to play with your food!

Ingredients for the Broth:

Ingredients for the Garnishing:

  • Meat options - chunks of meat from the broth, steamed seafood, grilled steak/ chicken/ pork, meatballs, sausage

  • Starchy yums - noodles (flour, rice, or seaweed), falafel, eggrolls, spaghetti squash, etc. Even sliced corn dogs are surprisingly good!

  • Red onion, diced

  • Fresh herbs - chopped cilantro, chives, basil, or shiso

  • Lime juice

  • Jalapeño, minced

  • Creamy goodness - sour cream, avocado, hummus

  • Sweet & sour - diced kiwis or mango, pomegranate seeds

  • Sprinkle sprinkle - Nutritional yeast, black pepper

Method:

  1. Prepare the broth - combine meat, veggies, and spices in a deep soup pot, instapot, slow cooker, or pressure cooker, and add enough liquid of your choice to cover.

  2. Cook according to your vessel and fire/ appliance of choice. The longer you cook it, the richer the flavors become! Meat should be cooked through and veggies at least cooked through if not almost totally broken down. An instapot or pressure cooker is ideal for preparing relatively quickly and will render a great broth in about an hour and a half. However, we have been known to cook our broths for 48-72 hours!

  3. Strain the broth, and taste for seasoning. Adjust to your liking!

  4. To serve, place starchy option like noodles or falafel in the bottom of soup bowls. Ladle broth over, and add bite-size pieces of meat and cooked or raw veggies if you wish. Garnish with a creamy dollop and sprinkle with diced red onion, herbs, lime juice, minced jalapeños, sweet and sour options, and anything else your heart desires!

  5. This dish is super fun to eat the chunks with chopsticks and slurp the smaller bits and broth with a spoon or straight from the bowl!
