Detox Bath

Updated: Mar 14, 2023

Our Detox Bath Kit is one of the newer alchemies we have made available!

The detox bath is quickly growing to be one of the most beneficial ways to detox as well as one of our most enjoyable times of the week!

The only downside to the detox bath is that it is a little expensive. However, if only done once a week or month, it is definitely worth the investment!

Both our small and large Detox Bath Kits come with 35% Food Grade Hydrogen Peroxide, sodium bicarbonate, and pink Himalayan, sea, and Epsom salts. Everything is all natural! (If you are unwilling or unable to get the full kit, the hydrogen peroxide, sodium bicarbonate, and Epsom salt are most important!)

HOW MUCH TO USE

Use an equal proportion of each product in your bathwater. The amount that goes in is relative to the volume of water in your bath - the less water you use, the less product you need.

There is no hard and fast rule to what quantity to use, but generally speaking 1/2 cup to 1 cup of each product is appropriate. Experiment on your own to find the quantity that works best for you!

HERE IS THE PROCESS:

Be sure to lay a towel or mat down on the ground before starting your bath, so you don't slip when getting out.

Fill the bath with the hottest water you can stand. Again, the less water you have, the less product you need - you can add both more water and product later as you soak.

Relax in the bath! As it cools off, add more water and splash it around to the hottest you can handle. Each session lasts somewhere around 30 minutes, so 1 hour to 6 hours is very doable if you use just a lil more hot water each time!

The longer and hotter you soak, the better. Worst case scenario, you may experience a little nausea or fatigue as the detox bath draws out toxins, but we encourage you not to get out too quickly!

Soak, fill some more water in the tub, keep soaking, and fill more again. Add more hydrogen peroxide at least (if not all products) after an hour or two, because hydrogen peroxide absorbs into your body and dissipates in the heat, and you want to get the most out of it that you can.

If you are going to stay in the bath much longer, add more product - as much as you can afford - up to 1/2 or 1 full cup of each.

Your detox bath will be even better if you get some water proof earplugs and fully immerse half your head up to nose in water, because we detox a lot in the head (which most people don’t intentionally do).

You can do dry skin brushing before getting in the bath to keep dead skin out of water, help with circulation, and open up the skin for absorption. Your skin is the largest detox organ in the body!

Share baths if it doesn’t gross you out, either at same time or taking turns after each other by heating up the water again.

The bath water will get cloudy, gray, or potentially brown during your first (or first few) detox bath(s). The bad part about this is that you're obviously toxic, but the good part is that the bath supplements are pulling it out!!

EXTRA NOTES:

The detox bath is good for you regardless, but there are certain things you can do to make it even better!

We recommend you light some incense, have some hot herbal tea, and drink lots of water - consume as much non-caffeinated liquid as you can!

You can also take detox supplements to deepen the experience.

Ideally do it on an empty stomach - or even better, on a fast - for best detox results.

What you should NOT do is drink any caffeine or alcohol, inhale any smoke, and ideally not consume any food as your body will detox at a far greater degree without any of those substances. Just lots of water and non-caffeine tea is ideal.

If you already fast once a week or once a month, this is a great time to enjoy your detox bath. Definitely don’t eat food while in the detox bath (no chocolate-covered strawberries and wine!), but if you fast then that is also the ideal time to take the detox bath! If you have any serious illness or condition, it’s worth the abstinence towards greatly accelerating your healing.

Put on some music or a relaxing movie so you can soak as long as possible, but refrain from the things listed above.

Doing the detox bath at all is beneficial; however, this is the way to get the max out of it.

If you want prolonged detox, don’t wash off in the shower or a fresh bath afterwards. However, if you choose not to, you may experience hours-long sweats as the salts and minerals saturate the skin and do their thing. Just keep drinking lots of water to stay hydrated afterwards. NOT washing off is great if you want longer detox, but some people just don’t have the time or circumstances for that. If that's the case, you may choose to rinse off as soon as possible to avoid extended detox symptoms like sweating and/or fatigue.
