Hydrogen peroxide is not only an essential component of the human body's innate immune system, but its presence in the atmosphere also makes plant life thrive!

As rainwater (H₂O) falls to the earth, the ozone (O₃) layer contributes one oxygen atom to water molecules, naturally forming hydrogen peroxide (H₂O₂).

"It is this hydrogen peroxide in rainwater that makes it so much more effective than tap water when given to plants."

Today, the air is so polluted that most of the hydrogen peroxide reacts with air-borne toxins and never reaches the ground.

To give your plants the boost they are missing from tap water and our compromised atmosphere, use 35% Food Grade Hydrogen Peroxide in the water you give them!

Here's how to:

FIGHT ROOT ROT

1 part 35% FGHP : 11 parts H₂O

then

1 oz DILUTION : 10 oz H₂O

Root rot is a disease caused by overwatering, which leads to a lack of oxygen to the roots, and/or a fungus that thrives in wet soil. As the name suggests, it causes roots to rot, leading to plant death if left untreated. Because it affects the roots, it may go unnoticed until other symptoms present such as yellowing leaves, brown spots, stunted growth, and dying branches.

If you suspect root rot, remove the plant's soil and inspect its roots - healthy roots are green or white, and rotting roots may be brown or mushy. Gently remove rotten roots and foliage, and repot with fresh soil. Be sure to disinfect your tools to prevent spreading the root rot fungus to other plants!

To prevent, treat, and keep root rot at bay, start by mixing 1 part 35% Food Grade Hydrogen Peroxide to 11 parts clean water.

Add 1 oz of this dilution to 10 oz of clean water, and give to the base of your plants. Be sure your soil has proper drainage and aeration to prevent overwatering!

SOIL AERATION

1 part 35% FGHP : 11 parts H₂O

then

1 oz SOLUTE : 20 oz H₂O

Air pockets in soil allow water, oxygen, and nutrients to the roots of your plants! Proper aeration can also prevent disease.

Start by mixing 1 part 35% Food Grade Hydrogen Peroxide to 11 parts distilled water, then add 1 oz of this dilution to 20 oz of clean water and give to the base of your plants.

Hydrogen peroxide disinfectant

DISINFECTANT

1 part 35% FGHP : 11 parts H₂O

Mix 1 part 35% Food Grade Hydrogen Peroxide to 11 parts clean water.

Spray on trowels, pruning shears, pots, greenhouse walls and shelves, and other gardening tools to prevent the spread of disease throughout your garden - especially if you have used your implements on compromised plants and soil (such as those with root rot)!

*This same ratio and recipe can be used to sanitize surfaces inside the home as well, including hands, cutting boards, countertops, floors, and kitchen utensils!
