The truth is, we still feed free meals and educate people in healthy, holistic, and sustainable practices. However, many events have transpired that took advantage of our transparent and trusting nature (most influentially, the $300,000 black ops SWAT raid that violated our rights with machine guns).
We now ask that those interested in our lifestyle demonstrate their intentions by filling out an application and siging an honor agreement wnd donating a nominal investment that affords priceless benefits and protection to them as members. For example, a mere $33 Copper Membership grants access to our world-class goods and services, classes, workshops, events, and parties for an entire year, plus you are immediately gifted $20 in GOE gift certificates! That's less than the cost of a meal at a petroleum-dependent, inorganic, typical, bland, unsustainable restaurant.
Here are the facts:
As a community, we still don't spend more than $1 a day per person.
We still educate thousands of people.
We still feed free meals.
We still offer free housing to those in need.
We still fed 40,000 free meals last year.
We still have a negative carbon footprint.
Comparatively, ask yourself:
How much money did you and your family spend last year? Where did those expenses go? How many free meals did you feed last year? What's your carbon footprint?
We became a private club and request support because we have a bigger vision to expand this new paradigm paradise throughout the world, where people can continue to be housed and fed for free. We've spent years and years and years on $1 a day with little more to show for it than a black ops SWAT raid. We realize that if we want to build a global community, there has to be equal consideration and exchange.
We spent the last 5 years giving as much as we can, and it's unsustainable to us; there's only so much we can accomplish with our 60 hour workweek. If we don't continue to operate, then 40,000 free meals don't happen! Workshops and classes and services and feed the homeless events don't happen!
Since implementing a more hardcore filtration process, the vast majority of our problems have disappeared. We only want to interact with people who are responsible and contributing fairly for what they receive and get. We want to help as many people as possible and are still fully committed to that, but we can only do that if people help us help people.
